On the 32 episode of "Innovate & Educate, Creative Bulletin News", I can proudly say that I got out of the box and be brave enough to invite Damiano Fina to my podcast!!!!
An Italian artist, a philosopher, a dancer, a performer, a pedagogist and most importantly, someone that has connected with the main essence of life and death through Butoh dance. Damiano is the creator of the FÜYAD Method, a transformative approach that takes the dancer-performer to build its own evidence of authenticity by also establishing the relationship with the audience that stops being passive and adopts a more present attitude. Any FÜYA apprentice transforms itself through each session by navigating through sacred symbols full of mysticism.
It is a poetic journey where the organism is the protagonist in its entirety together with dance. Its aim is to restore the balance of the organism with the world, providing a historical memory and a philosophical awareness that allows the construction of a more fertile world. But most importantly, Damiano shares that anyone can dance, it is not necessary to be athletic or of a certain complexion. In his book, "Dance and Alchemia" expresses that the alchemical body is the rite of synchronicity, the integration of polarities and all these happen while dancing and performing.
Presence and resonance are key elements in the emergence of spontaneous movement. Respecting our own rhythms, blending with the universe, be transcendent and immanent at the same time are part of this alchemical dance.
This episode is full of conscience and I can assure you all that, it is worth getting to know Damiano through images, words, movement and spirit.
