What if stories were not simply something we tell, but something that helps us understand who we are?

In this episode of Innov8 & Educ8 – Creative Bulletin News, I have the privilege of sharing a deeply human conversation with Amós Vásquez Ortega, Gestalt psychologist and facilitator of The Four Faces of the Hero, the experiential workshop created by Paco Peñarrubia.

Amós invites us to slow down and become aware. To listen—not only to the stories of others, but also to the ones we carry within ourselves.

At a time when immediacy, screens, constant stimulation, and external noise occupy so much of our attention, our conversation becomes an invitation to recover something profoundly human: the ability to stop, listen, imagine, reflect, and make meaning through stories.

We explore why myths, legends, and traditional tales have accompanied humanity for centuries; how their symbolic language can still speak to our own fears, choices, conflicts, and transformations; and why the hero's journey may ultimately be much closer to our everyday lives than we imagine.

And, inevitably, we turn to education.

What are children losing when there is no time to simply listen to a story? What happens to attention and imagination when everything has to be immediate? And what might families and schools recover by creating spaces where children can listen, wonder, ask questions, tell stories—and gradually discover their own?

Perhaps educating is not always about giving children more information. Sometimes, it is about offering them the time, presence, words, and stories they need to make sense of their experience.

This conversation with Amós is a reminder that stories connect generations, invite us to look inward, and create a space where something meaningful can emerge.

✨ Stories are not something we outgrow, we grow through them.

▶️ Join me for a conversation about stories, awareness, education, and the fascinating journey of becoming more conscious of who we are.
